LOAD® Health Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 4 May 2026

1. Our commitment to privacy

At LOAD Health, we take your privacy seriously. We understand that the information you share with us about your health, lifestyle, and personal habits is extremely sensitive. This Privacy Policy ("Policy") explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our Services. Our goal is to be transparent about our data practices and to give you control over your personal information. We are committed to following applicable privacy laws and industry best practices to safeguard your data.

Please read this Policy carefully to understand how we handle your information. By using the LOAD Health app, website, or any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Services.

2. Scope

This Policy applies to personal data processed by LOAD Health Ltd ("LOAD Health", "we", "us", "our") in connection with:

  • the LOAD mobile application;
  • the LOAD website; and
  • any other services where this Policy is referenced (together, the "Services").

Third-party services you connect (e.g. Apple Health or a test provider) are governed by their own privacy policies, in addition to this Policy.

3. Key definitions

"Personal data" means information that identifies you or could reasonably be linked to you.

"Special category data" includes health and reproductive data (including fertility and semen-related data).

4. What we collect

We collect data you provide, data collected automatically, and data from integrations you enable.

4.1 Account and contact data

  • name (if provided), email address, username, password (hashed), and account identifiers.

4.2 Profile and demographic data

  • age/date of birth, sex, country/region, and other profile fields you choose to share.

4.3 Health and lifestyle data (special category data)

Depending on what you use, this may include:

  • lifestyle logs (sleep, stress, diet, alcohol, smoking/nicotine, exercise, heat exposure, ejaculation cadence);
  • goals and plans you set in the app;
  • app-generated scores and insights (including the Sperm Health Score® and sub-scores);
  • notes or survey responses you provide.

4.4 Device and usage data

  • device type/model, OS version, app version, device identifiers (e.g., IDFV), IP address, and event logs (features used, screens viewed, timestamps, crash logs).

4.5 Integration data (only if you connect it)

Wearables / Health platforms: If you connect Apple HealthKit (or similar), we may receive activity and health metrics (e.g. steps, workouts, sleep).

Test providers / labs: If you choose to order or sync an at-home or laboratory test, we may receive results and associated metadata. The test provider typically acts as an independent organisation and processes your sample under its own terms; we only receive results where you authorise that sharing.

5. How we use your data

We use data to:

  • Provide the Services: account management, syncing, calculating scores, showing insights and recommendations.
  • Personalise your experience: tailor content, prompts and recommendations based on your inputs.
  • Improve and develop: debugging, analytics, product improvement, safety monitoring, and feature development.
  • Communications: service messages (security, billing), reminders, and (where permitted) marketing communications.
  • Safety and security: protect accounts and detect abuse or fraud.
  • Legal compliance: comply with law and respond to lawful requests.

We do not sell your personal data.

5.1 Quiz emails and unsubscribe

When you complete the LOAD quiz and submit your email address, we send you a one-time email containing your discount code or app link in response to that request. You can opt out of any future emails at any time by:

  • clicking the Unsubscribe link in any email we send;
  • using your mail client's one-click unsubscribe button;
  • emailing unsubscribe@load.health; or
  • replying to any email with “unsubscribe”.

We retain quiz responses for analytics and product improvement; opting out applies to email sending only and does not delete your data. To delete your data, email support@load.health.

6. Legal bases (UK GDPR / GDPR)

6.1 Article 6 lawful bases

We rely on:

  • Contract (Art 6(1)(b)): to provide the Services you request.
  • Legitimate interests (Art 6(1)(f)): to secure and improve the Services, prevent abuse, and perform analytics (balanced against your rights).
  • Consent (Art 6(1)(a)): for optional integrations and marketing where required.
  • Legal obligation (Art 6(1)(c)): where we must retain or disclose data under law.

6.2 Special category data (health data)

We process special category data primarily on the basis of your explicit consent (Art 9(2)(a)) for the purposes of providing the Services and generating insights based on your inputs and connected sources. You can withdraw consent at any time by disabling integrations, changing settings where available, or contacting us. If you withdraw consent for core health processing, some features may not function.

7. Sharing and disclosures

We may share personal data with:

7.1 Service providers (processors)

Cloud hosting, analytics, email/SMS delivery, customer support tools and payment processors. These providers process data under contract and only on our instructions.

7.2 Integration partners (controllers/processors depending on the integration)

Where you enable an integration, we share/receive data needed to deliver that integration (e.g., receiving test results). Those partners may process data under their own privacy policies.

7.3 Corporate transactions

If we undergo a merger, acquisition or asset sale, personal data may be transferred subject to appropriate safeguards and notices.

7.4 Legal and safety

Where required by law or needed to protect users, the public or our rights.

7.5 Aggregated / de-identified data

We may use and share aggregated or de-identified data for analysis, research, publications or public insight, provided it cannot reasonably identify you.

8. International transfers

We primarily store and process data in the UK. Where we use suppliers outside the UK/EEA, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g. UK Addendum/SCCs) as required.

9. Security

We use technical and organisational measures to protect data, including:

  • encryption in transit (TLS) and encryption at rest where feasible;
  • access controls and least-privilege access;
  • monitoring and logging;
  • secure development and patching.

No system is 100% secure. Please protect your account credentials and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.

10. Retention

We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes described:

  • account and in-app history: while your account is active;
  • inactive accounts: we may delete or anonymise after 24 months of inactivity;
  • billing records: as required by tax/accounting (often up to 7 years);
  • backups: retained for a limited period on a rolling schedule.

11. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, and port your data, and to withdraw consent. Contact us to exercise your rights. We may need to verify your identity.

12. Children

The Services are not intended for anyone under 18. If we learn we have collected data from a child, we will delete it.
